Choosing an ultrasonic cleaner: 0.6 litres or 3 litres?

  • 2 min reading time
Denson ACDS-100

Tank capacity is a starting point when choosing an ultrasonic cleaner. A practical decision also considers internal dimensions, permitted fill level, timer settings and worktop space. The compact Denson ACDS-100 and larger ACD-4830 show why comparing litres alone is not enough.

Choose around your instruments and routine

Compare instrument measurements with the tank’s internal dimensions, allowing for positioning according to the manual. A 600 ml capacity does not mean you can add 600 ml of liquid to the Denson: its product page states a maximum fill of 500 ml.

The ACD-4830 needs more worktop space but offers a larger tank, a drain and heating. Weigh available space, the instruments you process and the functions you will actually use. Higher power or temperature is not general proof of a better result.

Ultrasonic cleaning and sterilisation are separate steps, a distinction explicitly made by the RIVM. Select the liquid, programme and subsequent processing according to the instructions for the instrument, machine and cleaning agent. The available settings are not a universal hygiene protocol.
