Pedicure drill with extraction or separate drill: EXO Classic File versus Power Max

Pedicurefrees met afzuiging of losse frees: EXO Classic File en Power Max kiezen

A professional pedicure drill with built-in extraction should not be chosen by rotational speed alone. First decide how dust generated around the working bit will be collected: from the treatment area through a specially designed handpiece into a filter, or from the working area into a separately selected extractor. The EXO Classic File New Edition (149633) combines a drill and a dust extraction route in one device. The EXO Power Max 60 W with Saeyang H200 (155694) is a standalone drill with a handpiece and foot pedal; integrated extraction is not part of the confirmed configuration. With Power Max, anyone who needs dust collection must therefore make a separate equipment choice.

Both machines specify a maximum speed of 30,000 rpm, yet that common number does not make their operating systems interchangeable. Classic File has a display for speed, direction and suction level, an internal filter route and a filter replacement indication. Power Max focuses on the H200 handpiece, Twist-Lock mechanism, variable speed and pedal control. The first question is therefore whether extraction directly around the working handpiece should be part of the system, rather than which drill lists the highest number.

For an existing practice, also assess what is already installed beside the treatment chair. A suitable separate extractor might justify a standalone drill. If the intention is a single designed route from bit to filter bag, evaluate Classic File. Check the exact current model, compatible replacement filters and available space before ordering. Neither product name establishes that all dust is captured or that other appropriate exposure controls and room ventilation can be omitted.

Two different configurations

The decisive difference is the capture location. Classic File uses dedicated air openings in the handpiece. Material is drawn through its intended route to a replaceable filter bag inside the unit. The manufacturer describes the machine as a podiatry drill with extraction for dry pedicures. This is not simply an ordinary drill placed next to a random fan: the airflow route is part of the machine design.

Power Max supplies a controller for the H200 handpiece and a foot pedal. The documented package contains the controller, handpiece, pedal, holders and starter accessories, without listing an integrated extraction motor or dust filter. That does not prevent use alongside a separate extractor. It means the collection system must be selected independently for its position, airflow arrangement, filter and maintenance instructions. Each machine keeps its own intended job.

A separate collector takes dust from a different position from an inlet around the bit. Real working distance, the position of the customer's foot and other objects near the treatment zone influence the arrangement. A tabletop or built-in extractor is not automatically equivalent to extraction through a handpiece. Without measurements for the exact combination, avoid claiming the same capture rate or a numerical percentage.

Technical comparison

Use the exact codes to identify the products. EXO Classic File New Edition is SKU 149633, EAN 5906717460333. The manufacturer specifies up to 30,000 rpm, 230 V, approximately 2.8 kg in the product description, a control unit measuring 160 × 190 × 245 mm and a 127 cm handpiece cable. These values describe named components, not the total footprint of the chair, cables, filter clearance and working movements. The separate weight field states 3.6 kg without explaining the difference. Do not assume net or gross weight; confirm the mass of the current version if it matters for placement.

EXO Power Max is SKU 155694, EAN 5906717470905. The current listing gives 60 W, up to 30,000 rpm and a Saeyang H200 handpiece with Twist-Lock retention. The set also contains a pedal, a handpiece spiral cable extendable to about 135 cm and an approximately 160 cm power lead. Cable length is not a guarantee of a comfortable working radius: measure from the intended position of the controller without pulling the spiral taut.

The 60 W stated for Power Max is a drill power figure, not the rating of a separate extractor. Likewise, speed tells you nothing about airflow capacity or filter construction. Comparing motor watts directly against the Classic File suction setting is misleading: the figures describe different functions. Evaluate the complete configuration and the manufacturer's exact specifications instead.

Dust path and filters

Classic File has a continuous maintenance chain: inlets near the bit, an internal air path, a replaceable bag and a display alert. The current description states that the right-hand dial adjusts suction in 20 settings, in increments of 5%. The display also shows the remaining filter service time. These are useful controls, but an on-screen counter cannot substitute for checking the actual condition of the filter and following the replacement instructions.

The manufacturer warns that an overloaded bag can restrict airflow and contribute to overheating or damage. A red icon indicates that replacement is required. When ordering the machine, therefore establish not only that a filter is supplied initially but also the exact compatible replacement bag for version 149633. A filter that looks similar or has roughly matching dimensions is not sufficient evidence of fit.

Power Max has a different maintenance boundary. Its H200 handpiece is not the integrated dust channel used by Classic File. If you install a separate extraction device, that device's instructions control its cleaning, ventilation clearances, replacement cartridges or bags and service intervals. Keep the drill and extractor documentation together without assuming one product's procedures also apply to the other.

No suction level shown on a controller is itself a measured percentage of dust captured. The chosen accessory, nearby obstacles and the state of the air path all affect the practical setup. The Classic File manufacturer expressly cautions that solid tips, such as discs without ventilation openings, may impair extraction. This is a genuine compatibility limit, not permission to drill holes into accessories or improvise modifications.

Handpieces and bits

Classic File's push-in/pull-out fitting differs from the H200 handpiece arrangement. Follow the exact manual to determine which bits can be retained and used while leaving the intake route unobstructed. Even a bit with a mechanically suitable shank might be unsuitable if its body covers the air openings. The manufacturer links restricted airflow from unsuitable solid accessories to a risk of overheating.

Power Max uses the Saeyang H200 with Twist-Lock. Bit choice must take account of the holder, the bit manufacturer's intended use and permitted speed. A supplied selection of starter bits and abrasive caps does not prove that all specialist footcare procedures have suitable accessories in the box. Inspect the contents for the precise version offered and use the correct instructions before choosing a bit for a particular task.

The control logic is distinct as well. Classic File shows speed, rotation direction and suction on its display and uses separate control dials. Power Max includes a foot pedal for operating the drill with a previously selected setting. The pedal does not add an extraction function. If the working station includes another collector, its own switching and power connection may need to be managed separately.

Handpiece cables are part of the workstation plan. The specified 127 cm cable on Classic File and approximately 135 cm extendable spiral cable on Power Max are constructed differently; equal-looking lengths do not guarantee the same usable reach. Route cables away from chair wheels, moving footrests, sharp corners and areas where staff or customers walk.

Planning the treatment area

The stated 160 × 190 × 245 mm dimensions apply to the Classic File control unit. Allow additional space for the air and handpiece connections, adjustment controls, filter access and cable bends. A treatment chair, foot support and operator stool move during service. A unit that fits on an empty shelf might prevent access to the filter once the chair is in its working position.

With Power Max, the freestanding drill base occupies only part of the eventual arrangement whenever extraction is also required. Measure the chosen separate collector, its filter access, power route and required free ventilation openings. A tabletop collector affects the work surface; a built-in design requires a suitable opening and service clearance. Do not decide that the standalone drill is the smaller complete system merely because its controller looks compact.

A simple scaled workstation sketch can prevent unsuitable orders. Mark the client's foot, the professional's working reach, the power sockets, handpiece cable, filter change route and any pedal position. Check those points with the chair set for the procedure rather than only in storage position. A pedal should not be placed where a rolling chair can operate it unintentionally.

An integrated unit is not necessarily smaller in every practice. Classic File houses extraction components within its functional unit, while some practices already have a fixed separate collection device. Assess the full setup you actually need before comparing space. The meaningful dimensions are those of the completed working arrangement, including the space required to maintain it.

Package and running costs

The confirmed Classic File package lists a control base, micromotor handpiece, filter, handpiece holder, a cleaning tool and a manual. It does not include the Mini 969 cabinet or a treatment chair. Record SKU 149633 when buying and check availability of the model-specific spare bags. One supplied filter is not evidence of a universal replacement interval.

The confirmed Power Max package includes its controller, H200 handpiece, power cable, pedal, a holder, starter bits and abrasive caps, and instructions. A separate dust extractor is not listed. If you need one, make it a distinct purchasing line and confirm the contents of that device's own package. Only then can you judge whether the practical workstation is equipped for your chosen method.

Running costs include consumables as well as the initial machine. Classic File needs appropriate filter bags and maintenance of the air route. An external collector brings its own filter type and servicing, independent of H200. Without documented replacement frequencies and current costs for the exact configuration, a reliable cost-per-treatment calculation is not possible. Do not invent a low running cost from a filter that appears inexpensive.

Existing accessories deserve a model-by-model check. A filter bag from another extraction drill is not automatically a Classic File filter, and an H200 holder should not be assumed to fit the suction handpiece. Record model numbers, current versions and accessories rather than relying on photographs with a similar appearance.

Safety and maintenance

Dust extraction is an exposure-control aid, not a guarantee that every particle has been eliminated. Follow the device instructions, professional practice requirements and any other appropriate controls. This comparison makes no claims of HEPA filtration classes, capture percentages, reduced infection risk or measured air quality without corresponding, verifiable measurements for the exact setups.

Classic File lists filter alerts and thermal protection. The primary supplier specifically warns against operating with airflow blocked by incompatible accessories or an overloaded filter. Unexpected heating, obstruction or an error alert warrants stopping use and consulting the correct instructions or service rather than continuing solely because the speed display still works.

With Power Max, use a correctly locked H200 bit, undamaged accessories and the prescribed control and maintenance methods. A supplementary collector adds its own cleaning and replacement requirements. Keep both manuals accessible; neither replaces the other. Do not pour liquids into electrical ports or improvise oiling, washing or internal disinfection methods that have not been specified by the manufacturer.

Specialist assessment may be necessary for foot problems involving wounds, pain, diabetes or impaired healing. This is an equipment purchasing guide rather than a clinical tutorial on callus removal or treatment of high-risk feet. Relevant professional training and care protocols remain essential.

Making the buying decision

If no suitable extractor is present and collecting dust close to the bit is your priority, compare the EXO Classic File New Edition with your available space and the model-specific filter supply. Treat airflow and allowed accessories as core purchasing requirements. A maximum of 30,000 rpm is only one specification of this larger system.

If an appropriately placed separate extraction unit already exists, or you prefer independent devices, examine the EXO Power Max with H200. Its pedal may suit your preferred control method; extraction remains a separate choice. Make sure both devices can be reached, powered and maintained and that replacement filters are obtainable for the actual collector.

For multiple stations, consider whether standardising filter references or keeping drills and collectors independently replaceable matters more. An integrated unit is one functional system, so maintenance of a component can affect the whole station. Separate products allow independent replacements but require careful arrangement. List the existing models and serial numbers before ordering more equipment.

The podiatry drills and dust extractors categories provide broader comparisons. Consult the Classic File manufacturer information for its important airflow restriction. Check current package contents and availability rather than transferring details from other EXO versions.

Frequently asked questions

Does EXO Power Max include integrated extraction?

The confirmed 155694 package does not include an integrated dust collection system. Anyone requiring extraction should select a separate unit and its appropriate filter route.

Does the shared 30,000 rpm rating make the drills equivalent?

No. It only describes maximum rotational speed, not extraction, filter requirements, handpiece construction or permitted accessories.

Will every drill bit work in Classic File?

Do not assume that. The manufacturer warns that accessories covering the air openings may restrict extraction and cause overheating.

Is a foot pedal included with both products?

A pedal is confirmed with Power Max 155694. The reviewed Classic File 149633 package list does not specify one; check other variants separately.

What do the 160 × 190 × 245 mm measurements describe?

They describe the Classic File controller, not a complete working station including cables, filter access, chair and required clearances.

Which replacement filter should I order?

Only a filter explicitly identified for the exact model and version. Similar dimensions or brand alone do not confirm compatibility.

Does integrated suction guarantee safety for every procedure?

No. A listed suction function is not a measurement of captured dust, exposure or infection risk. Appropriate controls and correct professional techniques remain necessary.
