Tattoo workstation with drawers or open shelves: choosing Pro Ink 701, 702 and 1040A

  • 14 min reading time
Tattoo-werkstation met lades of open helper: Pro Ink 701, 702 en 1040A kiezen

A tattoo workstation with drawers makes sense when clean, correctly packaged backup supplies and accessories should stay off the active work surface. The Pro Ink 701 offers a larger aluminium top, multiple drawer formats and explicitly listed power connections. The Pro Ink 702 also combines drawers with a cupboard, but its top is smaller and its current description does not confirm integrated sockets. The Pro Ink 1040A takes a different approach: a glass upper surface, two open glass shelves and one wooden drawer. Choose according to how frequently you need access during a session, where reserve supplies belong and how much space an open drawer occupies—not simply by appearance or the largest quoted weight.

For the 701, the listed height is 83 cm, the top measures 68 × 50.5 cm, and the specification names two mains sockets and two USB connections. The listed 75 kg is the weight of the furniture, not a load rating. The 702 is 80 cm high with a 61 × 40 cm top and a descriptive furniture weight of 45 kg. For the 1040A the external dimensions are 80 × 60.5 × 44 cm, while the listed 45 kg likewise cannot be used as a permissible load on the glass. These figures should never become an invented capacity for a particular shelf, drawer, caster or worktop.

The comparison follows the actual treatment sequence: prepare clean supplies, limit the active field to the items needed, direct used items along their proper disposal or reprocessing route and clean the workspace between clients. The RIVM explanation of NEN-EN 17169 is a primary source for hygiene procedures in the Netherlands. It does not certify any Pro Ink workstation and does not establish universal chemical resistance for glass, aluminium, paint, drawer hardware or wood.

1. Choose by your sequence of work before choosing a model

Think through a normal appointment without adding an entire storeroom to the chairside trolley. Which items are prepared before the client arrives? What is handled repeatedly? Which packages should stay closed until the appropriate stage? Which backup items are not needed near the active worktop at all? Writing those answers down gives a more useful specification than asking which station has the greatest number of compartments.

Divide your sketch into an active surface, clean reserve storage according to studio procedures, and a used-item route leading to the correct disposal or processing arrangement. The third zone is not a convenient spare shelf. A closed drawer does not turn its contents into sterile instruments; touching drawer pulls with contaminated gloves can make enclosed storage part of the contamination path. Open shelves make the contents visible but do not confer a clean or sterile status either.

1040A: manufacturer drawing dimensions——Bottom inner area 50 × 38.8 cm; vertical lines 33 / 22.5 cm; not a guaranteed object envelope

The 701 has reported internal drawer measurements of 55 × 29 × 7.5 cm for each smaller drawer and 55 × 29 × 25 cm for the large drawer. A further 13 cm is described as the width of an extendable side section; do not re-label this as the full travel distance or minimum wall clearance without the precise drawing. The 702 has respective drawer dimensions of 47 × 33.5 × 7 cm and 47 × 33.5 × 18 cm. They allow a real existing organiser or tray to be compared before purchasing.

The manufacturer dimension drawing for 1040A, SKU 124847 shows a 60.5 × 44 cm top and an overall height of 80 cm. The bottom shelf has a marked inner area of 50 × 38.8 cm. The drawing marks 33 cm between the bottom and middle shelf rims, and 22.5 cm from the middle shelf to the underside of the drawer section. These are nominal drawing dimensions, not a guaranteed clear envelope for every object: rims, uprights and the insertion and removal path still matter.

Check the current Pro Ink 701, Pro Ink 702 and Pro Ink 1040A product information alongside the manufacturer catalogue matched by SKU. The table concerns physical specifications; it is not a promise about future price or dispatch timing.

3. Pro Ink 701: enclosed reserve storage, side access and power

The 701 combines a steel frame and aluminium working top with three smaller drawers, one larger drawer and a cupboard. The current description additionally mentions two vertical pull-out side drawers, steel organisers in the cabinet and one small drawer, a cable organiser on the rear and rubberised castors with brakes. This is a meaningful feature set if the studio really has different categories of supplies to separate. It is not proof that every material can be stored there, nor that a drawer maintains sterility regardless of handling.

A 68 × 50.5 cm top provides a different starting footprint from the 702's 61 × 40 cm. Test it with the actual bases of your tray, power supply, device stand and session materials. Leave room for plugs to enter the rear of each device and for controls to be reached. A larger top can still become crowded; its area also gives no permissible load for heavy equipment. Require that figure separately where it will determine the purchasing decision.

The Prohaar card lists two mains sockets and two USB connections for 701. The current original manufacturer description instead says two power sockets on each of the two vertical side drawers, with two USB ports on one side. Confirm the actual supplied configuration and quantities for SKU 124836 if power organisation determines your purchase. Also check the manual, load per socket, USB output and local plug variant: those technical limits are not established by this statement. Keep cables out of wheel paths and the active treatment field; built-in sockets do not replace an appropriate electrical installation.

4. Pro Ink 702: organised drawers with a smaller top

The 702 keeps the core pattern of closed storage: an aluminium upper surface, steel construction, three smaller wooden drawers with chrome-coloured pulls, a larger drawer and a cupboard. Its current card does not document the 701's extra side drawer system or integrated electrical module. Compare its 80 cm working height with your chair, arm support and equipment: the 3 cm difference from the 701 can matter in your working position, without establishing a universal ergonomic preference.

Its small drawers are listed at 47 × 33.5 × 7 cm internally and its larger drawer at 47 × 33.5 × 18 cm. A tray that is 48 cm long cannot be assumed to fit a 47 cm space. Account for clearance to insert and remove the tray, not merely the dimensions when lying flat; this practical margin is not a manufacturer-prescribed clearance. The difference between 18 cm and 25 cm drawer height can also influence a tall organiser, even though usable length and width are different. Test the front opening as well as the stated internal space.

A missing USB or socket statement is absence of confirmation, not proof that no regional variation could exist. If integrated power is a condition of purchase, obtain written specification for the exact SKU 124838. Apply the same caution to drawer and worktop load capacity: the listed 45 kg is the furniture's weight in the description, not a mechanical rating for the drawers or castors.

5. Pro Ink 1040A: two open glass shelves and one drawer

The 1040A organises access differently. The description also lists a steel frame and a lamp holder. Its defining combination is a glass upper surface, two accessible glass shelves and one wooden drawer. Open tiers let the practitioner see selected items without repeatedly opening storage. In return, exposed shelves and their contents remain in the working environment. Clean reserves that need protected storage must still be managed under the studio's own procedure rather than simply placed on an open tier.

Use the drawing for an actual fit check: measure the bottle or container including its cap, handle and any cable. Check that the object can pass the rim and uprights and can be taken out again. The drawing marks the drawer front at 8.8 cm and shows different height lines at the side; that does not establish the wooden drawer’s clear internal height. Ask separately for its interior and entry opening if that compartment determines your purchase.

6. Actual drawer clearance and the path around the chair

Draw the tattoo chair in its normal treatment configuration, including moving backrests and leg sections, arm supports, the practitioner's stool and the client entry route. Add the workstation and then draw each pull-out component open. For 701 include both sides; for 702 focus on the front drawers and cabinet; for 1040A allow practical hand access to the open tiers. A workstation fitting in a room with everything shut is not the same as one working well when a session is underway.

Rubberised castors and brakes are described for the 701 and 702. They are features for positioning, not a guarantee of stability at every load or while moved on every surface. Check the actual wheel brakes, level floor and route of power cables after assembly. The maker lists the 1040A as a wheeled unit; its particular locking and assembly arrangement should be checked rather than assumed to be identical to those on the enclosed carts.

7. Cleaning requirements versus furniture material claims

The RIVM guidance addresses the need for premises and work areas that can be cleaned, with a documented schedule and cleaning after each client. It also distinguishes cleaning from disinfection in relevant circumstances and calls for authorised products used in accordance with their legal instructions. These are relevant when judging access to drawer handles, lower shelves, corners, casters and gaps where residue might be hard to remove.

Aluminium tops on the 701 and 702 and glass on the 1040A describe construction materials. They do not establish resistance to every disinfectant, solvent or ink-related liquid. Check the approved intended use and label of the cleaning product and the furniture manufacturer's surface-care instructions. Painted metal, drawer liners, wood, rubber wheels and bonding materials may have different limits from the top. Likewise, an advertising adjective such as “hygienic” must not be treated as evidence of sterilisation.

Pay attention to hand contact during treatment. A drawer handle touched in contaminated gloves can turn the reserve compartment into another contact point. Organise the active supply before the session so clean reserves need not be accessed continually. After treatment, move used items along the specified waste or reprocessing route and reset the workstation according to the documented hygiene procedure. The selected furniture helps make a process practical, but cannot carry out that process by itself.

8. What to verify before ordering

Confirm the exact product identity: 701 = SKU 124836, EAN 5906717415562; 702 = SKU 124838, EAN 5906717415579; and 1040A = SKU 124847, EAN 5906717415609. Match these to the seller's current card and, on delivery, the packaging or supplied documentation. A similar-looking product picture or a different Pro Ink model name is not enough for technical substitution.

Confirm the details that still determine your layout: the full side-extension travel on 701, the drawer entry on 702 and the wooden drawer interior on 1040A. Heavy equipment requires a confirmed permissible load for the relevant top or shelf. The current manufacturer pages give different masses in their descriptions and separate weight fields: 701 75 versus 64 kg, 702 45 versus 42.2 kg, and 1040A 45 versus 24 kg. None is a load rating. Confirm the appropriate mass before transport or handling; do not assume the difference means net and packaged weight.

9. A clear decision before buying

Choose 701 if the larger top, numerous enclosed compartments, side access and listed sockets are genuinely useful and all drawers can open. Choose 702 if a smaller aluminium top combined with several drawers and a cupboard is sufficient, provided your organisers fit the stated 47 × 33.5 cm internal layout. Choose 1040A if visible access on two open glass shelves matters more than extensive enclosed backup storage and a single drawer is enough.

Compare the latest 701, 702 and 1040A cards, or explore the tattoo workstations and helpers category if another layout better fits your room. Confirm drawer travel, available shelf height, loading and electrical specifications before placing an order.

Frequently asked questions

Is 75 kg on Pro Ink 701 its maximum load capacity?

No. It is the stated weight of the furniture in the current product information. It does not specify the permissible load on its top, in a drawer or on the assembled workstation. Ask for a confirmed rating per component if heavy equipment is involved.

Does Pro Ink 702 include the same two power sockets and two USB ports?

Only the 701 explicitly lists those connections in the current cards consulted. Their absence from the 702 description does not prove that every version worldwide lacks them. Get confirmation for SKU 124838 if integrated power is essential.

How much clearance does an open drawer need?

The internal drawer size alone does not establish this. Measure the actual travel, handle, any door and the position of the chair and user. The 13 cm listed for 701 is the width of an extendable side section, not automatically the total required clearance.

Can a heavy machine stand on a glass shelf of the 1040A?

Not on the evidence of the stated 45 kg furniture weight. The safe shelf load, its mounting and dimensions must be confirmed for the exact item and planned device before making that decision.

Are enclosed drawers automatically more hygienic than open shelves?

No. Storage layout affects access and exposure, but does not replace the studio's cleaning procedure, proper handling of packaged clean supplies or separation of used items. Neither arrangement is sterile by default.

What are the actual internal drawer dimensions on 701 and 702?

The 701 lists 55 × 29 × 7.5 cm for the small drawers and 55 × 29 × 25 cm for the large one. For the 702 these are 47 × 33.5 × 7 cm and 47 × 33.5 × 18 cm. The clear front opening can still differ from the internal measurements. The 1040A drawing supplies the shelf dimensions given above; it does not establish the wooden drawer’s clear interior and entry opening.

Does the 1040A lamp holder work with every lamp?

No universal compatibility, included lamp or permitted lamp load is confirmed by the present description. Check the exact fixing interface and approved load against the lamp documentation before purchasing.
